In a Nutshell
The Master of Science "Strategy & Design for the Anthropocene" is a 12 to 14 month course launched in October 2020, certified by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE). It is the first diploma in the world with an operational focus that takes the Anthropocene as its framework and starting point. This Master of Science aims to train in "ecological redirection", acknowledging the outdated nature of approaches such as green growth (decoupling paradigm), sustainable development or CSR (compensation paradigm). It is offered jointly by ESC Clermont School of Management and Strate Ecole de Design Lyon. Inspired by the research conducted in within the Closing Worlds Initiative, it was co-founded by Alexandre Monnin (who is now its director), Diego Landivar and Emmanuel Bonnet, all three teachers at ESC Clermont BS and respectively Research Director, Director and co-founder and member of Origens Media Lab.

Strate School of Design
Born 26 years ago as an industrial design school, Strate is now a post-industrial design school which moto is Making the world + simple + fair + beautiful. Our definition of design is this : More than a profession, more than a discipline, design is a transformation force field, embodied by demanding professionals, readers and thinkers of complexity, and contributing to the creation of sustainable and successful human experiences, providing beauty in people’s lives. For us, a designer is an activist working, at every scale, to create a better living together. We think it, we teach it, we do it.
